In this role, you will be responsible for bringing mentoring and facilitation, based in our unique student-centered approach, into NYC public schools.

We serve NYC public schools in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan.

We are actively seeking multilingual candidates proficient in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Creole, or Bengali.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work independently to implement programming in some of the most challenging NYC public schools. We serve Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model
  • Recruit and retain students as needed
  • Learn and utilize our methodology 
  • Utilize your background to plan and implement after school programming
  • Work on special projects and activities with students and community members
  • Attend staff meetings and training 
  • Be prepared to physically work in any of our school communities and sites
  • Be physically prepared to meet the demands of setting up your spaces at school sites, pick-up and drop-off supplies, and facilitate the activities of your assigned placements
  • Submit appropriate paperwork and enter activity logs, attendance, and other data into our online database bi-weekly
  • Uphold our standard of excellence by consistently showing up prepared and on time for every scheduled session.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, Arts, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience working in urban public schools or a similar environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well and collaborate with team members
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Technological capacity to provide virtual facilitation if needed, as well as knowledge of virtual platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
  • Preferred to be already fingerprinted through the NYC Depoartment of Education

COMPENSATION:

  • Our after-school placements/residencies pay a flat rate of $130 per 3-hour session
  • Bi-weekly paycheck
